DASH: Supporting Beyond Behaviours

BLENDED E-LEARNING COURSE

Supporting Beyond Behaviours was developed in partnership with DASH Mental Health to empower parents and carers supporting young people with mental health and behavioural challenges. Aiming to create accessible, impactful learning, this blended course combines asynchronous digital content with webinars and virtual classroom sessions, allowing learners to reflect on experiences, engage in social learning, and receive direct support from subject matter experts.

Using the ADDIE framework, initial surveys gathered data on learner attitudes, needs, and context, leading to the creation of specific learner personas. These personas informed the course design, planned collaboratively with the subject matter expert and guided by Bloom’s Taxonomy, enabling a progression from foundational knowledge to practical application. The course wireframe mapped out content, assessments, and engagement methods, featuring a formative assessment approach that includes an online journal and action planning.

Prototyping began with a Growth Mindset module built in Articulate Storyline 360, integrating Mayer’s multimedia principles and Gagne’s 9 Events of Instruction to enhance engagement and retention. The prototype module is currently gathering learner feedback to further refine the course, ensuring it effectively supports parents and carers in applying course knowledge to real-life challenges.
